Results and recognition

A result belongs to a pupil.

Schools receive results privately once they are released. Teachers can share individual outcomes and available certificates or awards with pupils.

Explore recognition

Two ways to receive a result

Through the teacher. Pupils can receive their result from school without creating an account.

Through an optional Student Account. A pupil can see their own linked, released records where the account flow is used.

There is no public results list or public school leaderboard.

The practical workload

What does the school actually do?

One organiser coordinates the entry; authorised staff supervise the sitting. The work is centred on familiar school tasks.

  1. Choose eligible pupils and place the school’s order.
  2. Read the current workspace instructions and arrange the room.
  3. Check devices or print materials; agree access arrangements in advance.
  4. Supervise, record any incidents and complete the required return.
  5. Share released results and recognition privately.

Questions from schools

Do we need a team of ten?

No. BMSAQ is an individual competition. Ten is the entry-ordering increment; your school chooses how many eligible pupils participate.

Must we travel to a national venue?

No normal central travel is required. Pupils usually complete the Challenge at their own school under teacher supervision.

Can different year groups take part?

Yes, provided each pupil meets the eligibility rules for the Challenge entered. Use the age-category guidance and contact BMSAQ if a school stage is unclear.
