Each Challenge has an official date, an entry deadline and an indicative results release date so schools can plan supervision and communication.

Schools normally sit on the published Challenge date to protect fairness. Result dates are indicative and may change if marking or review takes longer.

Official dates and exceptions
Schools should normally sit on the published Challenge date. Where school calendars or practical arrangements create a genuine difficulty, BMSAQ may consider an alternative arrangement at the National Organiser’s discretion.
Planning the sitting
Before the entry deadline, confirm eligible pupils, the online or paper format, supervision, access arrangements and a suitable room. Keep Challenge materials and credentials secure.
