A new look. More ways to prepare.

The new BMSAQ website and portals bring clearer navigation, a redesigned practice shop and a more consistent experience from registration to Challenge day.

We have brought the public website, Organiser Portal and Challenge experience closer together. The aim is straightforward: make the next step easier to find, give useful information room to breathe and help schools spend less time working out where to go.

A clearer introduction to BMSAQ

The public website now shows the Challenge experience more directly, with product previews, clearer Challenge information and a consistent colour for each age category. Dates, eligibility and the five subject sections are easier to explore together.

On smaller screens, introductory decoration takes a step back so the key information and actions appear sooner. The website also brings region and language choices into view near the top, with optional automatic translation for people who prefer another language.

Practice resources, together in one shop

Past papers and practice now have one home on the public website. Product covers, descriptions and filters help you compare resources, while the catalogue appears before checkout services finish connecting.

You can add multiple products to a basket, review your selection and enter an eligible promo code before payment. The shop shows prices in the currency available for your selected region, and checkout confirms the charge. If your card uses a different currency, your payment provider determines its conversion rate and any fees.

Links from the Organiser Portal take you to the same shop. Practice purchases remain separate from official school Challenge entries, so you can choose preparation resources without changing your entry order.

Choose how your group practises

The free practice resource is available to download and as an 80-question online practice activity. It introduces a range of questions; it is not a complete current Challenge paper and does not contribute to an official Challenge result.

For paid online practice, choose the number of attempts you need. A school or group can purchase several together and share the individual attempt links with its participants. Check the product description when choosing a level and format.

The Challenge Portal tutorial is another useful starting point. It introduces choosing answers, moving between questions and reviewing a paper, so pupils can become familiar with the controls before a sitting.

A guided route after purchase

After payment, a dedicated page explains what to do next: keep your confirmation email, download your papers or open the online attempts, then share the appropriate individual links with your group. Free practice downloads use a short request form and an emailed download link.

The instructions stay close to the resources, rather than leaving you to find another part of the website after checkout.

A more useful Organiser Portal

The registration process has a clearer progress indicator and fields that work with browser autofill. Account changes now bring a visible Save changes bar into view, helping you keep track of edits without searching for a button at the bottom of the page.

Past papers & practice is available from the navigation, and optional preparation links appear when ordering Challenge entries. School history has clearer symbols, while What’s new gives colleagues a quick way to find announcements like this one.

Benji can answer general BMSAQ questions for invited colleagues, including Finance users, without opening up school data that their role should not share.

Tell us what would help next

A small, optional feedback invitation lets you leave a one-to-five-star rating, a comment or a feature suggestion. We remember a response or dismissal in your browser where possible, to avoid repeatedly asking. In the Challenge Portal, it is kept to home screens and does not appear during a timed Challenge.
